Certus Management Information System – CMIS
''Minimize costs, maximize uptime, show a job well done.'' These three goals top any laundry professional’s wish list.
And the new easy-to-use CMIS soft-ware tool helps you achieve them. To minimize costs you first need key statistics. To maximize uptime you need to anticipate glitches as well as plan for scheduled servicing. And to show a job well done you need proof that you’ve met your customers’ standards.

Easy To Learn and Easy to Use
CMIS can be fitted to any Electrolux washer extractor equipped with Clarus Control. All you need to access and view the statistical feedback is a normal PC.

Installing CMIS couldn’t be easier—trained Electrolux personnel will do it for you. The actual machine downtime caused by installing CMIS is minimal, usually no more than a few minutes for each washer extractor. Most average-sized laundries can be fully equipped with CMIS in less than one day.

CMIS was designed by laundry professionals for laundry professionals. That’s what makes it so user-friendly. In fact, only the most basic PC skills are required to start using the software. And just in case of any “teething” problems, our service personnel are available to help get you up and running.

You use CMIS at your own pace. You can start with simple applications and then work your way up to more advanced uses. Also, all the data provided by CMIS are easily transfer-able to other computer programs such as Microsoft Excel.

Minimise costs

CMIS provides a complete range of statistics on all key wash process parameters. Just as importantly, CMIS presents these statistics in an easy-to-understand way on your PC screen.
All statistical feedback is easily transferable into computer programs such as Microsoft Excel.

With CMIS you get the following statistics per wash/machine/program:
• Running hours
• Idle time
• Garment weight (with IWS)*
• Water consumption
• Detergent consumption
• Energy consumption
• Temperatures

Optimise a network of washer extractors
You can install CMIS in up to 30 Clarus Control-equipped washer extractors in one location. This means you can examine and optimize the performance of a network of washer extractors—not just of individual machines. * IWS—Integrated Weighing System, option on high-spin washer extractors.
CMIS gives you vital statistics from your Electrolux washer extractor, dryer or ironer. You can then use the data to identify and remove any wastage, thereby minimising costs.
Maximise uptime

CMIS helps you maximise uptime in three ways
• CMIS keeps a complete log of all maintenance work performed on the machine. The logged maintenance statistics tell you what was done to the machine, and when and by whom.

• CMIS alerts you to minor problems and/or human errors. But more importantly, you automatically receive messages on your PC suggesting ways to fix these problems.

• With CMIS you also have access to alarm statistics, which show the five previous error codes. CMIS explains the error codes and recommends corrective measures. This feature is especially useful when trying to see if you are dealing with repeat failures.

Show a Job Well Done

One receipt says it all
The CMIS receipt function leaves no room for doubt. It is proof that you have processed wash loads to customers’ specifications. The receipts are credible; they are not produced by you or your laundry. Instead, they are based solely on data delivered from the washer extractors.

CMIS lets you produce a detailed record for every batch processed in your washer
extractors. This record, or receipt, identifies the batch as well as the machine and program used in the wash process. The receipt also lists maximum and minimum temperatures, the duration of the requested temperatures, residual moisture content (with IWS) and the date and time of the wash.

More than settle customer complaints
CMIS process validation does more than settle customer complaints. It is also a highly effective, yet inexpensive, marketing tool. You can now attract new customers who require process validation. And of course, process validation enhances customers’ perception of your laundry as a professional operation committed to quality service.

Revenue is up to 10-15%

Göteborgs Tvätt AB is a family business established in 1949. On average, two tons of laundry pass through their facilities every day. Their customers are large and small engineering companies, hotels, conference centers and restaurants.

“When Electrolux asked if we wanted to install CMIS, we had three washing machines with Clarus Control. I thought it sounded interesting and jumped at the offer. Now we’ve bought two more machines, and they are all connected to the same PC,” says Lennart Jaldin, owner and president of Göteborgs Tvätt AB.

“At first, I thought CMIS was just an advanced time and motion study man. But I quickly realized that it is much more than that—it’s a tool to make our operations
more efficient and improve profitability,” says Staffan Larsson, operations manager. Installation was quick and easy, and it was simple to connect each machine to a PC in the office. Staffan considers himself an amateur with computers, but it was no problem for him to start using the software.

“The best aspect is that the entire wash process becomes more clear through the graphs and diagrams that show the wash times, water and electricity consumption, water levels and wash temperatures. It’s easy to follow each stage of the process and measure production efficiency and, thereby, costs,” Staffan explains. “Once we began using the software, I quickly discovered by looking at the water heating graphs that we could compress the wash programs to shorten the total wash times while maintaining the same quality results. By doing this, we were able to run an extra wash per machine every day. CMIS gave me full control of the wash process, both for each machine and for all the machines together,” says Staffan.

“This has meant that we have been able to increase our revenue by 10 to 15% without making any new investments,” explains Lennart. “The next step is to input the operation times for all the machines so that I can be informed automatically by the software when it is time to perform service. Preventive maintenance before trouble strikes means I avoid unplanned interruptions. Every minute of down-time costs us money. I can also keep track of what, and how often, maintenance has been performed on each machine,” concludes Staffan.
